Guys, no news from the garage about the van so I'm afraid it looks like Sunday on the bourgeoise is out.

Weather looks good on Sunday though. We can do an easy version of the pedally route, missing out the col de la basse climb.

Meeting at bottom of pleney first lift and bottom of chavannes for les gets people?

I am booked into a hotel in Morzine, from the 17th to the 21st, the Hotel Le Grand Tetras, but I can't make it. I have untill sunday to cancel my booking before paying the full price, so if anyone wants to take that booking off me and negotiate with them for time periods I will give them the deposit (65euros).

Pleney first lift is 9ish I think so shall we say between then and 9:15.

We'll be at chavannes by 9:30. Will finalise the route when we're all together.

I will [s]wear a red rose in my lapel and ask for a light for my cigarette. You will say "the lamas fly North for easter" [/s] be the tall bloke mainly in black on a canyon nerve. Waving half a hand around suggestively

Sunday 9:30 by the chavannes sounds great. See you there Boyos. I'll be on a bright green cube stereo, with bright green forks. I will mostly be wearing bike clothes and an Urge veggie lid and a red camelback.

Good luck with the van!

What's the van for?
I'll have a word with my companions and see what they say..so is the STW meet now on the 14th?
The reason I ask about the van is because I've a LWB Sprinter that seats 7 ( we are 5 ) but could probably get 20+ bikes in..

The van is for a lift back from Samoens. However since mine is still off the road we're doing a different route instead.
Meeting on this Sunday 7th is not instead of 15th,just an extra get together for those around this Sunday morning

Great stuff... I shall see you at the bottom of the Pleney at 9...

I will be on a Spesh Enduro and my lad will be on a Transition Bandit, he'll probably be yawning and wondering how long there has been two 9 o'clocks in one day!

Just a quick check, is this a knee pads and normal helmet kinda day...

Cheers

Normal helmet.

I don't own any other protective gear. Knee pads for those with knees worth saving then ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh yeah good question on the helmet.. I usually just go with the FF over here but if we are doing a good amount of pedalling I'll dress UK non-uplift style.

I have soft pads so will have them anyway... bikes all sound pretty similar ๐Ÿ™‚

I really want to do the Bourgouesie ride- but not ride back up. On the 15th, how are we going to shuttle this?

Bourgesoise not scheduled for 15th I think due to timings and Weeksy needing to get back to Burgandy. Let's think about it for the following day perhaps ?

So sorry guys.... all the prep in the world last night and we pull the bikes out to find a flat, a bladder that randomly sprung a leak and my lads trail lid had managed to sustain damage to the retaining system... the subsequent faffing just pushed us into the too late for people to wait zone.

Super frustrated as these rides are the ones I have been looking forward to... a break from the bike park would have been lovely.

Hope you are having a good one.

Great ride. Just back to the bottom of the pleney and ade on his way back to les gets.

First proper ride of summer for me so I was a bit out of shape compared to the very fit ade! Perfect weather.

Picon biere going down well.

Mbnut, keep in touch by email. May well get another chance.

Well my bikes checked, serviced, alpine ish tyres on and stored. just got to get through the week and the drive down now . Hoping the weather holds as my backs feeling good after test rides Physio and gym. No doubt I will be blowing out my arse come about 11am on the 15th though as majorly lacking bike fitness. Hopefully won't hold the group up too much

p.s. lbs in Les gets (Nevada) sorted the free hub play by popping a small spacer ring in. Seems good to go again now. All I need is another pass to test it properly

I'm guessing spacer will only be temporary fix as it will cut in again soon enough. Do less climbing and more lifts it my prescription

Thanks for the company on the trail

I sprained my wrist being clumsy walking down a mountain the other day which is annoying as I wanted to do a recce ride today. I'm still probably going to go out but take it easy.

Going to do supermorzine, lindarets, mossette and some exploring on Swiss side. Will report back later.

Had a dabble at a more trail riding route the day I missed you guys. It was good to Have a good look over the back of Mont Chery.

Ade, I thought i'd use the rainy day yesterday to see what the fuss was about the climb back from Samoens, so I rode over there for a coffee and back again.... ouch. I should have had 2 coffees.... dog slow as on a mtn but didn't stop... kinda enjoyed it once i'd finished.

Back on the lifts today much to my knees relief!

Off to Les Arcs tomorrow so no chance of catching up, enjoy the rest of your trip.

Mbnut so you rode the Samoens climb non stop on an Alps orientated MTB - Chapeau !!! Did you do the descent from Bourgeoise ? The bottom part of the descent from around Chantermerle is a marked VTT route with the road climb up.

To all currently in Deauville doing a few roadish rides on the Covert, hoping to make it down for 15th but timing looking a bit tight at the moment sadly ๐Ÿ˜

I will only be able to make Monday 15th.
I'm hiring a bike so will be picking that up at 8am and needs to be back at 6pm.
Is there a plan for the 15th yet? I'll be on an enduro bike rather than DH

Meet at Torico about 9 or so. I'm on an enduro too. Plan, hit lifts, come down, try not to kill myself. Lunch and then a beer before I've got a 3 hour drive back to Burgundy

Final jacuzzi in our overnight stay while our house for the next week is being cleaned. Lovely little place in a village called Nyon.

*edit weeksy, if we meet at torico we have to get back up through town to the lift, if we meet by the water trough at the lift (assuming supermorzine is OK, unless people want to go over to chavannes) we get a quicker start *

Ive been collecting ideas in my head, enduroish rather than dh. Would like to suggest an early start from supermorzine lift, and peeps try and get their PDS day pass sorted the day before to avoid any queues.

We can stitch together various things, rather than aim to do a big out there ride that might be tricky keeping a whole gang together on different bike styles (I'm making excuses for the fat lads on dh here ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

Supermorzine, zore, green to bottom of serrausaix as warm up

Serrausaix to col du joux vert, blue DH/transit link to Brochaux

Brochaux to mossettes
Then option descent to les croset via double track or black DH (comes out same place so different peeps can do different descents)

Followed by option les croset lift up the macheusen and red DH (I did it on my xc bike on weds) back to les Crosets.

Les Crosets back to mossettes

Lac vert descent from mossettes to lindarets with black or blue DH or transit options.

Regroup at lindarets for beer/coffee (anyone needing an early getaway can head back up lindarets lift and transit to super morzine bubble back to town in 20mins)

Chaux Fleurie to chatel bike Park via green DH/transit or straight into blue, red, and black dh. "Session", as I believe the youngsters call it, under rochassons and pierre longue for those that want to.

Return to lindarets via blue dh /transit or if I can find it a bit of ST trail that comes out at the goat village.

Depending on time option of dh from top of lindarets lift back to lindarets bowl a few times before return via transit along top of supermorzine and ST descent coming out at l'ele or other harder DH options to top of supermorzine bubble and take the lift back to town.

Anyone with other bits they'd like to add bung them in here.

The itinerary above is all in avoriaz/chatel/Swiss secteur not les gets. Has multiple options at key points so no one forced to pedal climb far or take a black dh if they aren't up for it.
