My rear wheel can be fitted with a 142x12 axle - is this what's needed for the Max frame? It mentions 148mm?
How about cranks? Anything special needed?

It's a boost rear end so you're going to need a 148x12 hub spacing. There's a WolfTooth 'Boostintor' kit for quite a few common wheels that allow you to use your existing hub. Will need to be re-dished tho.
It doesn't need boost cranks. In Fact Cy recommends you don't use them. Chainline for 1x11 is very good on mine with a RF turbine chainset.
