CK headsets?
Thomson stems/seatposts?
Assos bibs?
Oakley sunglasses?

What other stuff? Are Bos forks significantly better then Fox and RS now? Could you build a whole bike using the best stuff? Or are there too many manufacturers that are on par with each other? It's hard to choose between XX and XTR..

It's not hard to choose between XX and XTR, you go Shimano every time 🙂

Are Thomson really the best seatposts and stems?

Chris King headsets? I don't think so.

Best in what way?

Best for longevity?

Best for value?

Best for performance?

Best for emptying your wallet?

Best for all the fanbois?

Best for causing a 14 page argument on STW which in the end has sweet FA to do with the original post?

No complaints with my King headsets since fitting the Griploc convertions - the 'o' ring top race wasn't great though

Chris King? Didn't they change their headset design as soon as Cane Creek's patent expired?

Starting from a while back and only drawing on my own personal experience:

Club Roost Go Fast risers,
Daves Chain Device,
Club Roost Spiral Wrap grips,
Kona steel frames,
Avid V Brakes,
Mavic D521 rims,
Panaracer Fire XC tyres,
Shimano BB's,
XT hubs,
'06 Spesh Enduro,
Thomson posts,
Easton bars,
Charge Spoon saddles,
Hope Tech M4 brakes,
Fox Flux helmet,
661 Kyle Strait knee pads,
Endura Stealth Jacket,
Dropper posts - my own being a KS950i, but not tried others (although CB Joplins are poo)

There may be more I think of later...

Peanut butter (crunchy) and strawberry jam butties after a long ride, and a nice cup of tea of course.

Specialized sworks shoes and prevail helmet.

Shoes yes, but I prefer my 2Ds to my Prevail.

Sram XX gears

XTR is better IMO!

Etc etc etc!

I reckon you'd really struggle to find anything that's unanimously 'the best' if there was there'd be no competitors. Personally I'd say Oakley glasses and Specialized shoes are the only items I can think of that I'd not even consider anything else! I would say Stan's rims, but if I had the cash I'd get some Innolites, or AX-Lightness or something.
