went walking over there yesterday and realised it is a top riding rea so want to explore on bike, is there any guide books of area /maps/routes etc.

also i live near the start of cut gate, langsett side, and feel there could be a good route to do from there to strines and back over.

thanks ak

Thats going to be a mamouth day out.

Only routes I can think of without road riding or using a car/train/bus are up and over Jacobs Ladder, round Kinder, over middle moor, over Lantern Pike and work your way over to Strines and Brook Bottom via Aspenshaw Hall, Castle Edge Road and The Midshires Way

OR

Along Rushup Edge in to Hayfield then along The Pennine bridleway, right up towards Lantern Pike then pick up the rest as per Aspenshaw Hall etc..

I found these excellent http://www.bikemaps.co.uk/peak_district.htm
and also the Explorer map OL1.

Do you mean Strines as in Strines Moor in between Woodhead and Snake Pass of great road riding fame or Strines the hamlet in between Marple and New Mills of very little if any fame?

Ah good point I obviously mean, Strines the hamlet in between Marple and New Mills of very little if any fame?

But it does have some good riding and leads to plenty more
