When I logged on earlier they had a post saying it was being brought down for maintenance for half hour...looks like they're still struggling to bring it back online.

Quite a few sites down. Looks like a problem with Amazon AWS.

So, if I can't upload it to Strava, did my ride today really happen?

Not been able to see how dog-slow my ride home was today since ~1800, it was so shocking the devs took the app offline. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ ๐Ÿ˜†

Oh dear. Fairly monumental issue with Aws then. About time people started investing back in their own data centres....?

AWS S3 down for one of their East coast DCs.

"We've identified the issue as high error rates with S3 in US-EAST-1, which is also impacting applications and services dependent on S3. We are actively working on remediating the issue"

Though given the amount of sites down, either they have issues with more than one region or everyone deploys in the same place.

this is a DISGRACE

No, it's pathetic really Strava blaming AWS for an outage.

They should either procure a decent provider or bring it inhouse(ish).

Premium, so entitled to moan ๐Ÿ™‚

Kinda scary that a major AWS outage has crippled so much of the internet, something that was intended from inception to be a distributed model, this avoiding mass outages.

The charts on the Strava stays page tell a pretty damning story! > http://status.strava.com

Welcome to the 'cloud' everyone

Sorry guys this is my fault. Been hitting the squats pretty hard and went out tonight rising xc in the pouring rain... obviously rode so quick Strava broke. I'll try signing out so you guys can all get back in again.

It's the S3 storage service that's down out of the AWS east coast data center/region. Anyone who is down, like strava, should really be using multiple regions for resilience but clearly isn't..

There is no such thing as "the cloud"

It's just somebody else's computer

Hmm, last night's muddy slow ride is showing in Garmin connect, but not showing in Strava.

Wonder if it will take a while to catch up with back log of Zwifter uploads ๐Ÿ˜‰

Weirdishly, the ride I uploaded to Garmin Connect last night still hasn't appeared on Strava, but this mornings commute synch'd immediately across.

Scotroutes's comment above is now giving me a bit of existential angst. Maybe I didn't actually go out on the bike last night. Maybe I don't even exist.

Me too

Maybe I didn't actually go out

I wish I hadn't. There was more pumping up other peoples tyres and pushing someone with no chain than proper riding ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Uploaded file off of garmin this morning as the sync wasn't working.

Only 1 PR so obviously there is still a glitch somewhere
