[#11078908]

Looking for a 1 1/8 steerer carbon fork to replace the as steel fork on my salsa Vaya.
Ideally qr with mudguard and rack mounts.

Seems there's a few gold plated ones and a confusing array of no-name eBay jobs.

Anyone got any personal recommendations?

Cheers

Genesis do one, but I think it’s thru axle.

After looking for ages I eventually bought a Van Nicholas fork to match my frame. The other one I regularly saw when searching was the Lynskey.

Neither are cheap

I've used these Radon forks on a couple of cross bikes, ignore 28" size that's German for 700c.

Might be worth a look at the Carbon Cycles website. My mate just got a carbon 1 1/8th fork from there for his old Lavadome that he commutes on.

I have the Lynskey Endurance fork on my Norco gravel and it's been fine but I don't think it's available anymore.

Kinesis DC37 might do, but the best option is a Whisky No7. Personally I’d buy a TA fork and replace the hub as it’s more future proof, but that’s up to you.

Be careful with eBay gravel forks. Many have a short axle to base of crown height and can’t take a decent sized tyre despite having width clearance.

I run genesis cdf carbon forks. I think they were sold aftermarket as an upgrade / option

Plenty of clearance for 700 43 tyres with mudguards

Try and track some down.

OP - I've got the Original (unused) Steel fork from my Fearless Vulture going spare, fits your requirements (I've been using a Carbon Fork).
