Just watched this vid, the drop at 24seconds makes any drop of less than 6ft look like childs play!

Would you do that drop tony and if so, would it be no probs or would you have to look at it a bit, gulp and go for it. just wondering how unhinged you are. I know you have a rep to uphold but be honest. i wouldn't do the SMALL one just to be clear.

I'd rather be bummed by a tranny than ride off that 😀

Haha right, I was in Chatel during that comp and even the pro's were bricking it on that drop, not one of them tricked it at all. There isn't ANYONE on this forum who would even attempt it.

Hmm. So push the bike forwards, and that's all you need to do?

I've been tucking the bike under me by bending my legs.. I guess that has a similar effect.

It's easy. Roll of end, hit the landing, phone an ambulance. Easy.

heh that course gets more nuts every year. I've done a few large (~15') drops in my time but nothing like that. There is more to it than simple balls though - you're in the air for longer, which means the slightest forwards or backwards rotation will be amplified. In addition, the landing is way harder, and normally steeper to take the impact, which means its way easy to go over the bars. Not for me.

The chatel road gap is loads of fun though

I was there on the Sunday of the comp and I think 4 or maybe 5 of the top Freeride pros out of the entire field attempted the biggie. And only cos Brandon Semenuk went off it first. It was way higher than that video made it seem -

[img] [/img]

The fact there was a bermed turn at the bottom followed by a big big jump was making them all scratch their heads a bit not to mention fill their jockeys...

Stick a coping stone at the end of the ladder and I bet you'd think twice 🙂

I reckon somewhere in my brain are the skills to do some of those things. I just don't have ahything like the cojones.

Not one part of me wishes I could do that. The risk-reward ratio is much too loaded on the "trip to hospital" side.

Ace! I like the fact there were some tumbles on stuff "mortals" might attempt as well as the parp-inducing drops and jumps

Do you measure those ladder drops as the height of the ladder or to "touchdown"? If the latter I have done 6 feet. Yay! 😀
