...a couple of threads recently about how costly some little things are these days. Someone ought to follow the ssc/bikefridge model and get some far eastern factory to churn out working sensibly priced versions of.....?

So I will start the ball rolling with:

-shimano and CB compatible cleats
-avid/formula compatible bleed kits

what else would you like to see at ssc prices?

No. You misunderstand what they're doing.

Everyone pays the same for the same quality stuff out of Taiwan.
These business models sell cheaper by cutting out steps in the distribution chain.

...yeeesh, so with an Avid bleed kit rrp being £39.99 (or 40% of the price of a whole juicy 3), does that mean the far eastern factory is ripping off Sram, or is Sram ripping off the distributor?

decent chains. in fact, if they're cheap enough, disposable chains, one ride, new chain...
chain rings as above, cassettes too.

inner tubes. Can not possibly cost more than a few pennies to make.

I know we pay more for them than that, I have worked in bike shops for 8 or 9 years, but this is a fantasy wishlist...
