Could anyone advise what is the minimum steerer length required for a large swift- just in case the rigid forks becomes too much for me when the ground gets harder!
Some recommendations on forks would be cool too!

According to Singular Swift the head tube is 120mm. Then add what you need for headset, spacers, stem etc. Does that help?

Running a set of Toras on mine which I'm very happy with but the only other forks I've owned were some Dart 3's so probably not qualified to comment!

watch out for knobs on top of the fork crown hitting the cable guide on the down tube.

Are there any particular forks that are better than others- I suppose this is what all this talk about offset is on about!

I think all the current forks are around 42-44mm offset.

I've used a Suntour Epicon which worked well (and is silly cheap at CRC) and current RS Reba (more offset than the original RS Reba 29) which does the job perfectly.

Cable guides on the swift are pretty low profile so no problem with that on mine.
