does this stuff go off? just opened a fresh bottle this weekend, and after a good old shakeI still had a congealed plug of goop block up the nozzle straightaway. I was like you get when it 'balls' in your tyre after a while. Got me wondering whether there would be any useful particles left in the bottle...?

Good question. I've certainly switched to buying little and often for this very reason.

I also noticed the same thing at the weekend! The bottle isn't even that old - maybe 4 months or so

well isn't the key ingredient still air drying liquid latex?
Would storing it under a vacuum help you avoid/reduce the issue?

But yeah leave it for long enough and of course some of it will dry out...

That's why I just use a basic latex/water homebrew, the branded stuff may work a bit better but making your own works out miles cheaper per Litre, if it drys out a bit earlier never mind, all the brand name stuff is pretty pricey for what it is... IMO.

I have a bottle over a year old (first opened) that still seems fine (last used a couple of weeks ago, sealant came out as expected, in fact I'd have preferred to see a few more bigger bits of latex)

if the nozzle blocked when you were trying to squirt the liquid out, then it is just doing the job it is suppose to do - seal holes. All the little rubber bits collect and bind together to seal the hole, just shake it again. It is good stuff ๐Ÿ˜‰

I've had the same bottle of Stan's for over a year, I think. There is only a little bit left, but it was fine a week ago when I topped off my tires. I've used Stan's for many years, and never had an issue with it drying out in the bottle, which is normally kept in the house.
