Does anyone know of an iPad app which will allow custom tile servers to be configured?
My favourite Android mapping app (MyTrails) supports this, but I can't find anything with the same feature for the iPad.
Doesn't really need to do anything else -- I mainly want to use it as a road atlas with an added "you are here" feature -- but I would like to use my own customised mapping.
Hmm.. don't know of any off the top of my head. Be an interesting feature though. Take it you are running your own tileserver somewhere?
Are there not any websites that do this which you could just view in Safari?
Tile server is hosted by Cloudmade; they provide a style editor which can be used to skin OSM data.
A website wouldn't really cut the mustard, as it'd be dead without a data signal and would cost money with one -- I only need ocassional mobile data on the pad so it's on PAYG. An app would at least allow pre-caching, if not (as with MyTrails) proper offlining.
Bit of googling suggests OpenMaps might be a possibility:

Installed, configured, doin' the job. Rockin'. Cheers.
