ive just ordered a 355 on pro2, as i understand it you need to apply some yellow rim tape in order to run it tubeless and also a valve?
where can i get some? linkies would be ace too as im rubbish at searching for stuff!!!
many thanks
Look at the Just Riding Along website as I think you don't have to run the rim strip if you want to save weight but it won't be as reliable and see other thread up / down there depending on where it is on the page...
I've just set up some 355's and found Freeborn to be the cheapest for tape and valves. I'd also recommend the injector to cut down on the mess when adding the sealant.
Watch the Stans videos before starting the installation, very useful they are too.
Depending on your tyres be prepared for a good bit of inflating to 35-40psi and shaking the sealant around to make sure you seal the sidewalls properly. It took me 3 days to seal mine, but that is with fairly porous Supersonic Conti's. Well worth the effort though.
Either yellow tape + valve stem
or Yellow tape + olympic rim strip
Which one depends on what tyres you have to an extent and also how often and where you change your tyres. Using the rimstrip adds 30g but usually makes tyre changes much easier. Some tyres go up really easily with just the tape + valve stem though.
cheers all i'll go look
I got the same wheels as you, used yellow tape and the appropriate valve from Just riding along.
Watched the Stans videos, (lightly scuff inside of rim, wipe with alcohol wipe, apply tape with lots of tension, then temporarily install inner tube to help bed down tape, then tyre + stans milk and the silly wheel shuffle/shake thing.
Sounds a faff but was quite quick and easy. You've just bought light rims, be a shame to bung in a heavy rubber rimstrip.
I use Bontrager tyres (tubeless ready but must be used with sealant/milk) and they inflated first time without having to go mad on the trackpump ๐
