It is nearly all hand built by enthusiastic volunteers on a small piece of FC forest. It's very short by trail centre standards and very brutal. If you and your bike come away without a scratch then you are good or lucky. Lots of people complain that it doesn't flow.
basically it is nothing like a trail centre, people who turn up wanting a 3 hour XC ride will be disappointed, it has been built as a sort of sessioning spot with difficult and/or scarey obsticals. However, it is all XC, just very difficult XC on rocks and woodwork. It's a playground. If you are not prepared to attempt any of the obsticals then there isn't much on offer.
It's a great place to improve your bike skills especially rock gardens and riding over rocks in general. you'll probably think it's great if you're the sort that likes playing around on your bike in the local quarry and sessioning silly stuff etc, if you just go out riding on your bike, then it might not be for you.

It's the marmite of the trail world.

What Ayatollah said is a pretty good description. Super-tech' XC but without all the tiresome "distance" of an XC ride ๐Ÿ˜‰

yes. Short, techie, great. I loved it. still to do all the wood on the black. Red is great fun.

Most condensed trail centre I have ridden. 2 hours there would be equivalent to 4 hours at most trail centres.

I'd say it has lots of 'flow' - you just need to hit at speed! As an xc rider I tend to incorporate it into a bigger loop of the area.

I went there a while back and found it very tricky, but it still flowed just fine.
I thought that my confidence/skills over rocks improved quite a bit in just one day there. We started off doing a few laps of the red, then did a couple of the black route with lots of stopping, looking, head scratching, trying, trying again.......all good fine.

As said though, don't go and expect to bomb round a 'trail' getting miles in your legs.
