can you run ss kit on the back with a double+bash setup on the front? or will the chain always come off?
wouldnt be a true singlespeed but will help on the flat bits...?

if its a well sprung tensioner, with enough throw, it [i]might[/i] work.

only one i can really think of that might work would be a rohloff one, which would be pricey.

i was hoping it would be a cheap alternitive to gears so rohloff is outa the question..

well fit a mech as a tensioner .... and a front mech for the changing at the front ... then a set of shifters and you might as well just have the cassette on too ...

the Alfine tensioner has a lot of spring, it has a pair of jockey wheels like a normal rear mech as some can and do run the alfine with a double on the front.

Hammershcmidtttt (sp?) perhaps, not exactly a budget solution though...

Yeah it's possible, most things are possible, but then why bother? you'll have 2 gears and neither will be the right one...

2 cogs out back works
2 cogs at the front its a bit to much chain slack for most tensioners
