can you run ss kit on the back with a double+bash setup on the front? or will the chain always come off?
wouldnt be a true singlespeed but will help on the flat bits...?
if its a well sprung tensioner, with enough throw, it might work.
only one i can really think of that might work would be a rohloff one, which would be pricey.
i was hoping it would be a cheap alternitive to gears so rohloff is outa the question..
well fit a mech as a tensioner .... and a front mech for the changing at the front ... then a set of shifters and you might as well just have the cassette on too ...

LOL!
well if you will ask a stupid question you will get a serious answer ..
ill prove you wrong mr.rat ๐
the Alfine tensioner has a lot of spring, it has a pair of jockey wheels like a normal rear mech as some can and do run the alfine with a double on the front.
i can assure you you wont ..... its either a single speed or its gay* !
* owner of SS and super light super jey XC bike .....
Hammershcmidtttt (sp?) perhaps, not exactly a budget solution though...
Yeah it's possible, most things are possible, but then why bother? you'll have 2 gears and neither will be the right one...
Dinglespeed
2 cogs out back works
2 cogs at the front its a bit to much chain slack for most tensioners
tom, why the **** would someone who lives in the hilliest area of one of the hilliest parts of the country want a ss. โ
twingle speed
