Is it possible to replace the bearing within the cassette?

Pulled my cassette off the bike to diagnose a noisy drive train and the internal bearing is the culprit. Still rotates OK but it's on the way out.

Thanks.

There are no bearings in the cassette, those would be the freehub bearings, what is the hub?

It's part of a Sram GX drivetrain, I believe it's a XG-1150.

When I remove the cassette from the XD freehub, within the cassette is a rotating ring that looks alot like a bearing and it's not rotating smoothly.

there are no moving parts on the cassette.

a pic to show what you think you see would help

this is the best pic I can find

But there isn't a bearing in there, I've owned one and fitted it to a couple of bikes.

Unfortunately I'm away from home ATM so no pics.

When you mount an XD cassette onto the XD driver the internals structure of the cassette rotates independently of the chain rings to thread the cassette onto the freehub. This requires some kind of bearing/rotating system and that appears to be what is causing noises in my drivetrain.

That's my best explanation, hope it helps.

Thats the lockring. Once the splines on the back of the cassette engage with the freehub body then the cassette is joined to the freehub. That lockring should only creak if the cassette is not solidly on the freehub causing it to move about. (I say _should only_ what I mean of course is its really unlikely....).

Its not a serviceable part AFAIK so if there's something wrong with it then send it back I guess.
