I know one of the combinations with sram and shimano doesn't work but I can never remember if its sram shifter with front mech or sram shifter with rear mech.
Also, are there any models of sram shifter that do work with whichever front or rear mech that doesn't usually work?

my bike came with sram shifters, slx on the front and X9 on the back!

thats good, just bought an slx rear mech and a pair of attack shifters 8)

attack and rocket shifters should work with all shimano mechs. XO and X9 shifters will only work with X5/X7/X9/XO Rear mechs, and any front mech
