So brand new frame, trying to fit SRAM NX rear mech to a SRAM 11 speed cassette both new, cannot get the second new cable to remain in the groove after moving up and down the cassette.
It comes off under tension or for some reason, why oh why.

Presuming you mean where it runs around the elbow just before the cable clamp? There should be a hole that it feeds through to stop it coming out of the groove, you may have missed it.
