I need a Boost chainset for 29+ bike I have. However, is the chainset the Boost bit or is it the chainring that does the Boost?!? I ask because if the cranks are the same, I can still buy the groupo and then buy a Boost chainring...

If its a SRAM chainset, its the chainring only... if its a direct mount ring. If its a spidered arm it will be non-boost only.
Its all dependent on what crank you have as to how you can convert if you can.
