[Closed] SRAM 12 speed rear mech

As far as I can tell the only way to get one at the moment is to buy a bike that has one fitted. (Not much help I know, but close to the truth)

Cheaper than a new bike......but probably not very helpful either

Get a Shimano 12spd rear mech...works fine and they are around in stock

I ended up buying an AXS upgrade kit as that’s all I could find after I twanged my rear mech the other week.🤷🏼

We're starting to see bikes supplied with Sram shifters and Shimano mechs, and they seem to work fine (in fact the one where SX was replaced by SLX was the nicest shifting of that model that i've come across).

They keep popping up on eBay there's a 52t Gx Lunar one @ 135 at the moment UK and a similar priced one from a Ukraine seller I bought one from no problem or duty. You can also get the 2021 SX mech from Aliexpress for about 90 which I've got as a spare. The GX Lunar model is much better than old 50t version.

Both will work and last longer than a sram mech.

Yep bent my GX mech and swapped to SLX. Works absolutely perfectly

I thought you couldnt use a Shimano Mech with a SRAM shifter? Does it work ok, or brilliant?

Is it only a 12sp comoatability, or does other stuff work between brands too?

I replaced SRAM 12 speed mech with deore. Shifting wise it was great and better than the garbage Nx derailleur.

However it's now got so much play in the pivots so not super impressed with it's durability either

12x works Shimano / Sram same cable pull ratio I believe.

yeah sram to shimanio convert here. SRAM mechs are awful and massively overpriced. i dunno why anyone bothers with them??
