[#11792034]

On the back of the thread seeking the perfect 'Three Season Glove', I'm wondering what gloves everyone's wearing for the warmer months. When all you really want is a bit of grip, protection from blisters and something to save your hands following that unexpected off.

Seeing how the stock situation is, I'm looking to get in ahead of the curve.

I’ve spent the last several year using Oakley Factory Pilot gloves, but alas it seems they’ve been discontinued for a while and my stockpile is gone. So I’m interested in this as well.

Something thin, cheap and hard wearing would be handy.

I have a ton of gloves, pick them up cheap in the sales like an addiction!
Last ones I bought were Troy Lee XC £10 bargain from Merlin. In flouro yellow oh yes.
Best summer gloves I have are Ion (Gat, I think), nice n lightweight.

I have TLD Air gloves, seem to be lasting well after 18 months. They give a bit of padding and protection from branches without being too hot for summer.

Troy Lee XC are my favourite gloves, really comfy, cool enough for all but the hottest days and last well. Plus they're cheap at the minute, unfortunately because they've stopped making them!

+1 for Troy Lee gloves, prefer the Airs but have a pair of xc as well. Fox gloves, in my experience, don't last long before the stitching comes away, I wouldn't buy another pair

some new thin Nukeproof ones, really nice actually and great feel. I wouldn't go as far as to say they offer much in the way of protection though.

Giro DND in plain black. They're the least "fancy" I can find, nice fitting, no zips, velcro or plastic "armour" great leather plalm, snot wipe on the thumb...That's it. perfect.

+1 on the Giro DND, perfect in every way except for the freezing cold.

Troy Lee XC used to be my go to, but recently really been enjoying my 100% Cognito's - nice to have a bit of knuckle protection without being overly bullky.

Endura for me.

Loads on sale at Sports pursuit and you can use the STW code for more discount.

Forgot to add, if you have freakishly small hands lol. not many sizes in stock.

Endura still for me though. Been really pleased with them and how they last as well.

I used to love Fox Dirtpaw but the latest iteration changed. I got some Endura Singletrack gloves for Christmas: they're good and should be light enough for summer.

Giro DND for me. Giro Rivet is better in hot weather, but the back is a bit flimsy.

For the last few years I have been a Fox Flexair user, really liked the lightweight and feel through the palm, but as others have said, they fall apart so easily.

I have been really impressed with my 100% Brisker gloves this winter and am going to give some of there gloves a go, just waiting on the LBS to get there summer stock in, not sure whether to go for the Celium or the Slings though, anyone got any experience of them?

Lots of food for thought here. Thanks guys.

I've been well served by Briskers the past 6 months. Really nice fit too. Fit is something I often struggle with, so have been looking online at other 100% gloves. Ridefit, Celium and Sling MX (MX version looks more substantial than the non-MX) have caught my eye. Not sure about whether I really need the armoured knuckles of the Cognitos.

I do like the look of those Giros though.

Yeah, I've found 100% gloves fit me really well. I think I'm palm > fingers so a lot of other brands are too small across the palm and/or fingers are too long. IME Endura and particularly Troy Lee don't fit my hands well. All finger and no palm*.

You might like to check out other brands which I think have similar fit to the 100% are 661 (I loved their old perforated Raji summer gloves, seemingly unavailable now) and Dakine.

YMMV if you're a concert pianist.

*You pick the joke according to your sensibilities.

I'm VERY fussy about gloves as I have no little finger on my left hand and my palm is significantly narrower.

I hate gloves that go baggy.  100% seem to not go baggy!

Someone is selling some 100% Ridecamp gloves (size M) on the classifieds, I think. Cheap too 😀

UPDATE: I ordered both pairs of 100% gloves, the slings and the celiums. The celiums I would say are closest to the flexairs in weight and feel, nice palm and breathable material on the back.

The Slings are like a raceday pair of gloves, very thin palm and back to them, good feel, not so great for wiping your sweaty brow though.

Happy with both pairs which have already lasted longer then my last new pair of flexairs which split after 3 rides!
