that bloody car driver Nomad. How dare he- that overtaking malarky probably kicked up 2kg of Co'.If only car drivers stopped driving
Did anyone suggest not driving?
I got done in exactly the same kind of circumstances a couple of months back - overtaking a lorry doing 50 in a 60 limit. Mr Plod reckoned I was doing 75 which I was genuinely quite surprised about - I thought 70. Like you I wasn't doing anything "dangerous", but I was caught breaking THE LAW. So bend over and get your arse slapped like a good little boy.
What really rankles with me is this.
I got 3 points and a £60 fine for a "crime" which hurt nobody. My girlfriend got knocked off her bike last summer, by a dopy ****wit who didn't look before pulling out and didn't bother stopping, leaving her lying in the road with a broken ankle. That idiot was offered a driving awareness course instead of the points - which of course she took. So the person who caused injury got off scot free, the person who didn't cause injury has points for 3+ years, increased insurance premiums etc.
It's a simple question of which county you commit your crime in as to how you get punished and that's what p!sses me off. Bedfordshire constabularly don't offer speed awareness course. The Met do. Surely it should be one rule evenly applied for all, nationwide? If I get 3 points, so should she (minium, as failing to stop at the scene of an accident *is* a serious crime)
Everyone is equal in the eyes of the law, just some are more equal than others.
