Possibly going to buy one tomorrow as I like doing a bit of road riding every now and then. Just wondered if anyone on here has ridden/owned one and if so what are your opinions. I'm drawn to specialized due to their after sales and warranty being so good
Cheers
I've got an SL4 (which I believe is going to be the frame used across the range for 2014), which I am extremely happy with. Light, extraodinarily stiff but pretty comfortable with a pave seatpost. Some people find them a bit low at the front, but I've found mine doesn't induce any middle age back ache with a couple of spacers.
I bought mine frame only, and specked it myself. Sometimes Specialized's standard specs are a bit stingy for the money compared with the less mainstream brands, but as you say, can't fault the service. When my forks were recalled they turned them round in a week and gave me £100 credit for the inconvenience.
I have the Tarmac sworks SL3. it is the best road bike I have ridden.
Would it be worth trying the Roubaix as well?
I really like Spesh and was going to get a Crux, but their pricing seems way high for the kit this year.
Spesh prices always seem a bit high. I remember demoing a 29er hardtail. 1 x 10, aluminium frame, Fox Evolution forks, Elixir 7 SL brakes, £2000.
Mind you, the warranty service is second to none. So it depends on how hard you think you'll ride it over the years I guess.
Thanks for all your input, I went completely off mark and got a focus 6.0 Evo in the end. Seems like a good bike also got a good deal too
Mulletus Maximus off here has one and it's been good enough to drag him to a couple of wins this season. They may just have been his legs and lungs though 😀
