Are these any good? How quickly do they adjust when dipping in and out of woods/bright sunlight? How clear do they go - clear enough for night rides or not quite?

The Divide frames fit nicely in the shop but what i cant tell is what the lenses are like out on the trail. Any thoughts appreciated.

I have a pair and to be honest I can't remember how quickly they react as I never remember that I'm wearing them when I do. I suppose that could be a good sign (never too dark or to bright) or I'm just very unobservant in general. Not used them for night rides mainly because I had a cheap £7 clear bolle pair that I didn't mind loosing in the dark (which has now happened!)

When it's not a bright sunny day i find mine too dark in wooded areas, so i'd say a deffo no no for night riding. Think i might get some cheap clear or yellow for winter/night use...

😀

Bear in mind there are two kinds - yellow for mtb and red for road.

I had 2 pairs of yellow chicane ones that were really nice - lost/broken both of them now though. 🙁

Dunno about night rides but they were great for in/out of woods in sunlight.

Night rides -normaaly also wet rides= cheap glass.
Adapalites= the normal yellow lense colour is pretty good at filtering glare so in and out of changing conditions they are ok.
Nothing will work super quick in extremes. You might have to slow down for a moment, sorry:-)

They're fantastic. Constantly in and out of the woods here, react super quick. You sometimes have to do a "double-take" as you go from very bright to very dark, but all is well within a couple of seconds.

Wouldn't use them for night riding.

I like mine but i wouldnt wear them at night or on really dark days.

There's two different lens versions, an MTB one and a Road one, with the MTB one being slightly lighter (as they assume you will be in tree cover etc more). No sure there is much difference overall though.

You can get clear lenses to fit for night riding although no benefit over a second cheap set. For day riding the transition is ok most times except for when descending fast into woodland from bright sunlight.

I like them a lot, in and out of woods cause me no problems, but I do find they are a little too light on the really bright sunny days. Overall good.

I'm with the majority here: Too light for really bright days, and too dark for night riding. They also don't change terribly quickly, so if you're flooring it and you ride from bright open sunlight into the dark, dark woods, you will be doing so blind!
That said, I do miss mine ( I have gone to Oakley M frames and can't afford their transition lenses).

Not for night rides in pitch black, but good up till then. Brilliant glasses. Change quick enough to be very useful in most situations. I love mine.

Too light for really bright days? Maybe if you plan on staring directly at the sun constantly..

To be honest, anything other than clear glasses for night riding is pointless.
