Do xt/xtr spd pedals last a bit longer, bearing wise, compared to m540's?

Just a bit fed up of having wobbly pedal axles after less than a year.

Or is there anything else that lasts? So far I have found the same problem with time's and egg beaters, although again the lower/mid range ones.

M540s are identical in every way to XT pedals (M770 version) apart from colour. XTRs are a bit nicer, possibly better bearings.
I've got a 5yo set of M540s which apart from a bi-annual grease up dont get touched.
TOP TIP If you get a new set of Shimano pedals, take them apart and grease them before you use them. Helps longevity as they don't come with much grease inside when new.
