I have always used Spesh shoes and have dodgy knees and feet, so use with blue inserts, which work well.

Due to some foot surgery and age (arthritis) I could do with something a bit roomier on the toes, without the whole shoe being overly wide - any recommendations ?

will use them with Spesh insoles

Thanks

Mavic

The Maxi ones, I presume? The regular Mavic shoes are super narrow.

Shimano do a wide fit in certain ones

thank for info so far. I tried a pair of the wider Shimano ones, but they were too wide over top, though good on toes...

Shimano wide-fit
Northwave
Scott

all feel similar to me. Most others I've tried have been too tight, including Sidi wide fit.

Lake, they do a special wide fit for some models but even the normal ones are wider than average IME

Five ten impact. You'll look like a clown, but a very comfortable one

Scott Comp MTB/SPD shoes, good toe room, can be had for about £45 - best for warm/dry weather.

Had them instead of some shiny black too-tight Northwave shoes which went back.

Most of the current enduro-ish Shimano range seem to have a lot of toe room.

Another vote for Lake, they're far wider than most of the other brands
