Been to East Dartmoor a couple of times and enjoyed the techy trails (Lustleigh/Hound+Birch Tor etc).
Does the Area roughly bounded between Ponsworthy and Buckfastleigh offer similar riding - it sure looks interesting on the OS 1:25k map.

Some fun stuff around the newbridge area that can be linked into the dartmeet area. Strava is your friend.
A lot of it is overgrown at the moment so worth waiting for the bracken to die back a bit.
