It must have been done to death, but perhaps a few years back! If I give in to the voices in my head saying buy a 2012 revelation fork, but wish to keep my IS mount HFX9s with 8" rotor, what do I need? A +20mm adapter?

Thanks

You need one of Theseworks with most forks with no rotor size increase needed.

I can attach a pic if you need to know how it looks.m

Think I've seen your piccies before when 'doing a search'! ๐Ÿ™‚ thanks. The 203mm one I take it then?

I used the 160mm to fit a 180mm brake as all of the others increase the rotor size.

I think I'm starting to understand, IS mount calipers were designed for different disc sizes and you need to know this as the starting point. How exactly do you find that out? The HFX9 had different adapters depending on whether you were running 6, 7, or 8" rotors. Do you keep the existing adapters? (going away to search for those piccies again.....)

Think I've established that hfx9s are 160mm post mount without adapters. That being the case would attaching them directly to a revelation mean a 160mm disc?

If I keep having a conversation with myself like this then someone will come and take me away.

Things are starting to become clear. The HFX9s are and have always been post mount. All the various guises I've used them in have had a post to IS adapter. If I buy revelations I'll have a post mount fork and a post mount caliper. So what I actually need is a post to post 6 to 8" adapter!

I think I'm happy now though reserve the right to a thread reserection if it all goes horribly wrong!
