Hi,
My eldest needs a new bike as he’s outgrown his current one (size small Scott genius 29er).
He has a particular (read odd) requirement that I’m looking for suggestions on.
He wants a 29er, 160/170mm travel preferably carbon but alloy is fine (that’s my wallet speaking there!). Easy enough so far.
Final requirement is that It must have a vertical shock because he doesn’t like the aesthetics of horizontal shocks.odd but you’ve gotta love what you ride.
We’ve seen the transition range and a raw Madonna and obviously another genius so I’m looking for suggestions of what are effectively enduro type bikes with a vertical shock.
Thanks!
Airdrop, Trek, Scott, Giant off the top of my head. Bit daft though.
See the Bird/Slash thread, there's a nice Slash in there discounted
Giant Reign 29.
Airdrop
650b only. I own one 😁
What about a mondraker superfoxy rr
Vitus
Bit daft though.
Not at all.
you’ve gotta love what you ride.
Absolutely. I love the aesthetics of my KSL, so much so that I lust after an Enduro even though I’d hardly ever ride it.
Atherton AM.130
Doh sorry. Forgot travel req.
Seems a very reasonable requirement.
Some of those horizontal shocks look a bit clunky.
The vitus sommet looks great, it has his approval.
Shame the one he wants is out of stock now.
How tall is he?
A mate is selling a Transition Spire. (Mate is 5’9”ish)
Privateer
Not that tall unfortunately, he needs a medium.
Seems I’ve got a lot of mutual friends with your mate.
Indeed you have to like what you ride.
My eldest was set on a Bird until he clapped eyes on his Rocky Mountain...
