As above, looking for suggestions for a couple of weeks mtbing/maybe some road, warmer than NE Scotland (not really that hard!), reasonably easy to get to, plenty decent trails, hopefully close to some civilisation (whatever that is).
Was thinking Canaries, South Africa, Algarve, South Spain etc. XC oriented but do enjoy a bit of Finale Ligure as well.
I tend to do a XC Stage race in Feb/Mar but due to a couple of operations this year I am not really that fit and with the daftness of entering the Swiss Epic coming into stark relief daily I need a jump start.
My place? Perfect for what you need, I'll sort a plan out for you.

Cheers PB, will look into that, was thinking about a couple of weeks from mid Feb or so. Your place looks nice and there are some hills, and likely no snow!
