Lovely. But did I read correctly £1.5k for a frame?

I like the look of the 29ers for under the C2W limit.

That's inflation for you, this years charge plug is the same color and price as the 2009 version, only with no brakes!

"Charge Plug now with retro style threaded headset & quill stem!"

Wow! That seems like a must have upgrade!

2013 will bring us a rod operated brake to complete that retro feel!

I'd really like to try a skinny duster.

Charge is an odd brand - I just don't get the 'retro modern' thing it just feels derivative

Is it just me or does every Charge mountain bike look it has far too long cables? Obviously the plug above is fine, but the rest of the pics on the top link and Charges own website look horrific. It's a shame because I quite fancy the look of the Cooker apart from that.

I don't know why but I've never 'connected' to the brand - nothing they do seems that interesting or innovative (hence the derivative comment).

I think that Nick is trying to re-create the character of bikes and riding that he enjoyed as a boy. They are understated and un-fussy.

My Charge Tap is a simply styled and practical commuter, and it get lots of admiring comments from non-cyclists who see it. It's clean and tidy and it looks like a "normal" everyday bike rather than a racing bike. That's exactly what it is.

A blender and duster have both passed through this house and i have to say neither were inspiring at any paticular style of riding, just jack of all trades which is ok if thats what you require.
