Will a solicitor charge me for asking how he/she was?
Need a simple question answering. I signed a personal guarantee when I was a director of another company, they've come after me as that company has hasn't paid them. I resigned and left them ages ago.
Can't be right surely.
How have they 'come after you?
If it's a personal guarantee then it's you doing it whether you're still a director or not. Otherwise everyone would sign guarantees and then resign from the board to avoid paying?
Hindsight: did you not think to sort this out when you left?

No, I'm the typical bloke running a business because of what I know about that business, but I'm not a businessman. If that makes sense.
