[#3515036]

Been a roadie for the majority of the last 2 years but ready to buy a new Mtb and hit those trails. My current bike a very tired Gisnt Nrs2 ( which I completed the 7day 2011 Transwales event on) is ready to go into semi retirement. Most of my riding will be done in Afan, gyncorrwg,Brechfa and Forest of Dean also love the XC endurance stuff. Prob looking at a full susser, budget is £1500 or may consider a bit more if worth it. Any advice, experience will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ade.

I would say look for a 100-120mm travel bike. Which one only you can decide as everyone likes different things in a bike. Test rides would be my best advice.

Love the look of the Canyon and had it on my shortlist, spec looks amazing for the price! Only trouble is a test ride I suppose. That said do any shops, suppliers have demos you can try on a trail or track etc!
Love the Ghost AMR 5900 as well but is it worth the extra over the 5700?
Thanks for your advice guys

Those prices on Pedalon are pretty good tbh. Is the x1 worth the extra over the x2 for my needs?
Thanks again guys

Looking at the two there doesn't seem to be that much in it. Slightly better brakes and wheelset but the fork and shock are the same. I would probably go with the X2 if I was in your shoes. Unless you are feeling flush!

"Is the x1 worth the extra over the x2 for my needs?"

I bought an X2 from Pedalon a few months back, I didnt think the spec on the X1 warrantied the extra cash so went for the X2.

The only 'updgrade' I was worried about particularly on the X1 was the RP23 shock. Whilst riding my X2 I have never once thought it needed the pro pedal thingy!

Oh and the black looks much nicer than the white!
