Heading to North Wales from Somerset on Saturday 13th, camping for a few nights at a site near Snowdon, heading home on Tuesday afternoon. So far the plans are to ride Snowdon on the monday morning, Llanberis Path up and Rangers Path down and off the mountain by 1000.

We're a mixed skills group but all capable, we regularly ride general trails and Triscombe on the Quantocks, BPW, and recently did W2 at Afan.

Basically, does anyone have any ideas or advice for rides on the sunday, monday after Snowdon and maybe tuesday? We can obviously include somewhere on the drive backlights to Somerset on the last day. We'd prefer to stick to trail centres rather than having to navigate natural stuff.

So far on my list of places to look into are; Betws y Coed, Llandegla, Machynlleth, Coed y Brenin, Nant yr Arain and Brechfa. Obviouly we can't ride them all so would appreciate any suggestions and advice

Marin trail close to Betws-Y-Coed is worth doing if you've never been, the last descent is one of the best trail centre descents I've ridden and you can easily head up for a second go by just turning right at the top of the first climb.

If you're going down the Rangers path, don't miss the right turn before the lovely flowing switchbacks!

You can clearly see where we went wrong. 😆

Marin (now called Gwydyr) and Penmachno one day as they are relatively close together.

The other day I'd go Dyfi Climachx and Coed y Brenin.

Coed y brenin for trail centre stuff. For natural rides try this site

I can recommend Drum Mountain

I'd do CYB one day, then NYA en route home the next.

NYA is easier going if you've had a big couple of days (as you should have done with Snowdon and CYB preceding it!) .

Apart from the detour, that's the right route! Didn't you go to the summit, though?

I could say my phone/strava was in my bag and I left my bag with everyone else while I went to the top...I'll tell the truth, I was going to, but there was a 30 minute queue to get to the top, I shit you not!! 😯

I could not believe how busy it was and now see why proper walkers stay clear of Snowdon.

Out of interest, how much of the Llanberis Path is rideable? I hate pushing. 🙂

most of it is ridable if you've the legs, there are some "stern" bits though.

Looks like 2 of my mates have decided on Antur Stiniog uplift for Sunday afternoon, Snowdon Monday morning, and I really want to do Coed Y Brenin so need to work that one in either Monday afternoon or Tuesday on the way home.

That relive.cc thing is great, I can't believe I've never heard of it before

Or, how much you ate at Pete's before setting off.

I did this tour last weekend. Skip Nant y Arian. It's a big XC fire road disapointment. Lots of climbing without the reward of single track descents.
The evening on Snowdon will be way quieter than prior to 10am. We didn't come across any walkers on the way down. Rangers and telegraph valley is a much better descent than back down the Llanberis. Pete's eats for pre ascent food. Spice curry house post.
Penmachno is good but be prepared to get wet.
A half day at Antur was enough.
Climachx descent is ace.
E-bike hire is £65 at coed y brenin
