Chain reaction cycles say the Slx is more for 29er specific any one heard this before or is just bollocks to get rid of said hubs?
also is there any difference between the two?

I think the SLX is made to take higher torques if you are running a 36t cassette. Can't see the XT not being able to cope though. I have XT hubs on one of my 29ers and they are fine, but then i run a 34t cassette.
