Just purchased a new SLX groupset with my bike, and the shifter for the rear derailleur seems to not rebound back to the original position when you push it to change down. Is this meant to happen? If you push three times it stays right at the front, then when you change up it flicks back to the original position.
Thanks
Just checked and new 10spd SLX and sorry to say it goes back to the original postion!
I would lossen the cable at the rear mech and check the nipple end of the cable in the shifter to make sure it's not kinked/damaged and to double check if it is fitted correctly in the sifter.
Failing that take the cable out, and see if the shifter works any better.
Worth checking that the shifter's not pressing against the underside of the brake lever, this can sometimes distort it enough to prevent the trigger returning.
If it's a full outer get some Middleburn Cable Oilers on there.
