[Closed] SLX front mech top pull ..anyone else been caught out by cable clamp?

maybe I'm a bit thick, but yesterday I tried to fit an SLX triple front mech on my turner. it's a conventional bottom swing pulling from the top. I've always prided myself on my bike fettling but this one caused me a real headache (probably due to loads of beer!)
basically if you don't clamp the cable in a certain way ( which to me wasn't obvious) then the set up is impossible. yes ..I know why, but normally shimano show a routing groove to assist any confusion and it wasn't until I magnified the diagram up to 400 % that it became clear.
Just wondered if anyone else had had the same problem or as stated ...maybe the old brain cells are giving up !!!
