I'm wanting some SLX cranks. Wanting to run single 34t front ring. The SLX comes with a bash which I want to keep and run with the single chainring and sell the the middle and granny ring they come with. Will a single ring 4 bolt standard ring fit on with no issues out of the box? I ask this because someone mentioned that the SLX has funny sized chain ring bolts?

Eh ? SLX double has a bash not the triple ?

Shouldnt be any problem, the chainring bolts are standard but Torx drive, thats all.

yes THe double is what I'm thinking of buying ditching both rings and sticking a 34t single speed specific ring on and keeping the bash on.

You need a T-30 bit to undo them and steel knuckles as the SLX tightening machine at the factory is set to 'gorilla-torque'.
