The rear brake is great but feels a bit too sharp - not enough lever travel bofore fully locked. How can I soften it? remove a bit of oil from the reservoir?

A mate had a similar problem with his Hayes 9s he ended up using a syringe to inject a bubble of air into the caliper bleed screw

Is it on a big rotor? Could you put a smaller rotor on rather than sabotaging it?

It is on a 160mm rotor. I reckon I can remove a drop of oil.

My brake was soft, I could pull the lever all the way in with one finger rather too easily. Re-bled the brake and forced oil into the system then. I probably gave it too much juice so it moves some 3mm before engaging.
Zaskar, it's stupidly simple to rectify (start at the bottom and work upwards - the old-fashioned way with a siringe, hose and swearbox).
