I've just spent half an hour trying to bleed my front brake before realising that the piston seal has gone.
So, can I mix a new SLX caliper with an old (2008?) XT lever?

Oh, and I'm only asking because CRC have SLX calipers (which actually looking at it is probably way more than I need) cheapish. If anyone knows any other bargains please let me know 🙂

I'm not sure if the old levers will work with the new calipers, since the levers had a re-design. It might work, just not as effectively as a matched set would.

Thanks for the answer. Perhaps I'd be better with new deore or old deore caliper only.
