Afternoon all,

I'm keen to know if anyone else has or has suffered from Slipping Rib Syndrome or can offer any advice for me.

I came off my bike a few years back and partially dislocated a rib. A brief trip to a osteopath and i was all good again for about 6 months or so, then it just didn't feel 'right' for the next 18 months or so. It didn't give me any problems so I just kind of ignored it....

I've recently started some strength training (to complement the riding) using kettlebells but this has aggravated it and now its causing me a great deal of pain.

I made another trip to the osteopath this afternoon, he manipulated it back into place and off I went all happy again. 2 hours later I bend down and its gone again ๐Ÿ™

I'm generally not a flexible person and I'm wondering if this is why it slips out so easily? Ive done some googling and I think I may need some physio to increase my flexibility which should help keep things in place but I'm wondering if its worth paying another small fortune to my osteopath to manipulate it back into place or should I explore the physio side of it first?

Anyone, anything?

Popped my sternum from my ribs on one side playing rugby, hurt a bit but was young back then so was playing agin the next weekend. Certain movements will aggravate it so I avoid those moves. My advice is if it's so debilitating with pain go to the docs and see if he refers you to go have it wired back in place!
