I'm trying to fit disc brakes to my old sliding drop out Inbred and have come across a problem. I'm attempting to fit a Deore caliper to the back - its a post mount one but i'm using an IS adaptor. with the rear wheel in and the caliper in the right place for the disc there is at least 5mm between the capliper mount/adaptor and the frame. Now the sliding drop out arrangement is inboard of the frame/caliper tabs (as it would be I suppose) so this kind of makes sense. Am I being a ****t or is there a special adaptor/spacer that I'm missing?

Frame - Sliding drop out Inbred
Brakes - 160mm Deore 2010
Hub - On-one single-speed

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

no, you have it. the frames came with adaptors - thick washers basically. you can use a M6 nut drilled out iirc, or a bit of 1/8th ally, or some washers. you'll need longer than standard mounting bolts too. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks Del,

I bought the bike second hand and didn't appear to get any of those - looks like I'll have to rustle something up!

Thanks again.
