I bought a Giant SCR road bike off here a few months ago and its been excellent, I've really enjoyed it. When I got it, though it felt too stretched out and almost uncomfortable on the drops, but I persevered and it has been fine.
My much awaited Genesis Vapour has arrived. I went for a 56, which is larger than the Giant event taking into account the Giant's compact geometry. Anyway, it feels way more comfortable on the drops than the Giant ever has, and yet I initially thought the Giant felt too stretched out.
This is a bit of a ramble, but I've learned two things:
1. You really do need to at least swing your leg over a bike to check sizing before buying; and
2. Road bike sizing is not as straight forward as you think.
I'm looking forward to [s]leathering[/s] pootling it up some forestry tracks tomorrow.
