I use a PX team alu as a winter trainer/ commuter so have no guard mounts. I've been using the Crud racegaurds for the last 18 months' and despite the bad press people give, I've found them pretty fuss free, and pretty much a doddle to fit. But then the rear one snapped under the brake yesterday. To be fair to Crud replacement part is only £6.50.

But I wondered if the SKS's were worth the extra cash?

I hear (though I've not tried the SKS) of more faffage and less coverage with SKS compared to race guard mk2'a.

I know a few people with them - just as solid as proper guards they reckon, I've a pair on the way so I can put time in on the TT bike over winter. Whereas crudguards, regardless of which version, seem to be virtually disposable items in comparison... something you buy a fresh set of once a year (or have to request spares for once a year!). Crazy.

They give good coverage, but unlike the cruds, there's nothing at the brake bridge/fork crown so you brakes will still get a little mucky at the pivot.

Got the "normal" raceblades. Quite limited faffage but equally limited coverage. By all accounts these are a bit more faff and a bit more coverage. FWIW I'd stick with what'cha got.
