Whatever floats your boat. I'm pushing 40 (soonish) and I bought one last year after not having one since I was 15.

Local skatepark has started an over 30's night, original idea was over 40's but they decided to lower the limit a bit to justify the numbers...

Not risking my training just yet so hope it keeps going until autumn.

Get on with it but it will hurt. I started again last year when a new bowl was built locally, stupid fall ****ed my knee up for months.

Daz I was thinking of going to the golden oldie night, saw a few of your crew on the pics. ๐Ÿ˜›

Think it's second Monday of every month Al, couldn't make the last one but will try and have a ride up to the next one. Not sure I'll be skating though.

Thursdays are board only nights, a couple of our lot go up for that also...

Little bit before my time Falls, heard lots about Arrow though.

Get yourself up to Unit3sixty if you're still local?

Haze i would love to but had knee replacement 6 months ago and waiting for the other knee to be replaced. might see how the knees are in a year or 2 and then have another bash.
OP if i was able to still ride then i defo would not stop just because i turned 50. I am only 47 though. still got my ALVA with lime green kryptonics under the bed. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

I had the same experience last year, go for it,the grins are worth it.

Those longboards look fun, trouble would be finding a road quiet enough to ride them like that.

Your call OP. If you skated as a pup you'll know just bloody sore skating can be. If you didn't - keep at it until you bust yourself properly. Then reassess* ๐Ÿ˜‰

Why not? Surely it's no different to asking "should I ride bikes after 50?" (insert any other random age).
If it's something that you've been doing a while, why stop? - if it's something that you've recently discovered, then just do it if you enjoy it.

There are times when I think I should give up riding bikes ('cos I'm older than Neal Unger...) but they don't last long. I'll never win any races again, never be able to drop and jump stuff like all those young dudes can but I'm not that crap either, so while I can get something from it (physically, mentally, whatever) I'll keep doing it - same for you then?

Anyway, no doubt you'll be expected to work until you're 68 or something so why not keep on doing something as an antidote to that?

Turned 50 last October. For the last 10 years or more my longboard has been kept in my van and gets ridden whenever we stop at a smooth car park. I'd love to find roads like those in that video.
Maybe this year I'll finally get round to joining in the Bath to Bristol charity skate run.

I've recently got back into it after a 20-25yr lay off ..have to say im loving it so far, a lot of parks nearby with great concerete parks, so getting in amongst it has been great exercise and my kids love going on their bmx's so its a family day out..win win!, although I've never hurt so much ! currently nursing 2 sore knees and a suspected chipped bone in my elbow from 2 weeks ago unsuccessfully dropping in on a halfpipe....I'm going to buy elbow pads!!

My mates still skating vert, riding with Sean Goff

I pierced Sean's nipple with a nappy pin many years ago ๐Ÿ˜†

OP, go for it but try not to fall off as it can hurt.

I still skate. I got bored waiting for my kids at skateparks (they are scooter groms) and bought a board off Ebay 'for them'. Which has since got mildly upgraded ๐Ÿ™‚
Landed my first impossible @ 43 ๐Ÿ˜€ Then I saw a vid of a dolphin flip late kick and realised that things had moved on some!
