Riders started in waves for the XC, that is why there aren't too many on the start line.

Your performance in the Down Hill and Trials determind your start position in the final race (a bit like the Crystal Maze - where the number of crystal won determind your time under the Golden Shower... or whatever it was called).

the guy on the far left of the 3rd pic, #116, was quickest in the downhill. after the XC race he then competed in and won the trials contest that was going on in the quarry today too. he's a machine.

Bumpity-Bump as it seemed to drop off the bottom before the event actually finished.
