I'm looking for a singlespeed to replace the two ageing Dawes Edge One's we have at work. They're only ridden on the Power Station site so gears aren't needed (and the constant need for repair would just add to my workload).
Is my only option the Genesis io? we already have three of those and to be honest after 18 months they don't look look to special due to the combination of steel frame and salty sea air.
Is there an alloy framed SS out there that I've missed?
scandal?
The io is the best handling small wheel SS bike at that price point (IMO)
Scandal is nice, but salty sea air stuffs everything eventually.
iO + waxoyle
Why not just make the Dawes s/s?
Why not just make the Dawes s/s?
A Dawes Edge One is a single speed. ๐
Jones Ti spaceframe would be ideal.
You could even get a Ti basket knocked up for the front. ๐
Any cheap geared bike run with a tensioner?
Does it really need to be singlespeed specific?
I hear Whyte do some poverty s/s framesets
Some wierdo on the Q's has a collection ๐
Have a look at GT
The Edinburgh Bike Co-op used to do a singlespeed version of their courier. More of a hybridised mtb, but I had considered one myself (before I got a Singlecross).
Not alloy, but cheap?
