I've had my fair share of mishaps with these guys recently and have found my almost unquestionable support for their brand taking a real bashing over the last year.
Today I received an invitation to a 'special customers only' private sale, for various pairs of Oakleys.
''You've earned and invite to the very first Planet X Private Sale'' (there's a few spelling mistakes in the email)
Ever the sceptic my initial reaction was ''bullocks, thats just marketing blurb and I wont save a penny over Joe Bloggs''
Then I figured, I mustve spent over £1000 with them in the last year alone, maybe I have genuinely earned some kind of special early bird discount..oooh!
So, I follow the link to the pair of glasses that im told I can have for £63..
The link leads me to a page that Joe Bloggs can enter at anytime.
The prices are actually £74 to £104.
Cue phonecall and forwarding of said email to customer service team (ever friendly).
Cue response ''it's a mistake''.
It would appear that we are all [i]special[/i] customers after all.
End of pointless rant.
*sigh*
Just like their "mistake" on the pricing of certain premium lights earlier in the year where even after breaching numerous laws on distance selling they just cancelled everyone's orders and said "oops....."
