how long has that style of shuttle been in use, clearly an amazing bit of kit but surely due an update
no update due, cost is to much even for the yanks think it is all over by 2015 for the shuttle project
they have less people in mission control than an F1 team
there's no * scary 'different' religions or easily accessible oil in space so the money goes elsewhere

I worked on the shuttle program between 1980 and 1983, and was there for the first flight. That was a very exciting time.
I once saw it fly over the UK after lift-off - it was just a very fast bright light TBH
Late January afternoon back in the early 80s - I couldn't quite figure out how it was still so low as to be able to see it
Would love to see it leave the launch pad
