Morning all

Looks like we are staying in Shropshire for a few days next week, last minute getaway in a holiday cottage. Nearest village is Corfton.

Any recommendations for rides, pubs, cafes, things to do? Any nice bakeries??

Many thanks helpful shropshirians

Ride wise you are right in the middle of the classic areas. Long Mynd, Hopton etc. As for places to visit Ludlow castle is interesting as is Stokesay castle. Ironbridge is also worth a look with the Blist Hill museum. On the opposite side of the river is Jackfield tile musuem which now houses lots of small crafts businesses where you can watch the crafts people diing their thing. There is also the Wroxeter roman town musuem, Acton Scot farming museum and Shrewsbury itself is a pleasant way to spend a day. Hope that helps.

A walk or ride up and around Stiper stones is very nice.
Hopton, Bringewood and Mortimer forest are excellent winch up, blast down venues.

Shropshire is a big county! Church stretton of course - access long mynd via NT carding mill valley by foot or town brook hollow as a loop. Or simply drive up across the top to watch the glider club.
