Haven’t seen one of these for a long time (unless I’ve missed it), but always enjoy looking at the eclectic mix of bikes members own.
I only really mountain bike, so I have just two currently - trail full suss and a trail hardtail. I love both, but have been particularly impressed with my Stumpjumper. A really capable bike for a 5ib frame. Nearly 5 years old and nothing jumping out at me to replace it with that’s worth the cost.
"A collection generally consists of three or more items"
So I do have a bike collection after all 🙂
And therefore I must not 😂
A brace of bicycles sounds much better anyway.
I'm not sure my rambling pantheon of wheeled trophies represents a triumphant curation of a grand bicycle acquisition strategy, or a significant crossing of the line between a hobby and a mental illness.
Mine definitely fit the definition of a "collection" tho. Maybe 2 collections 😉
Okay here we go, might take more than one post.
Orbea Vibe. Bought Sept 2022. Car replacement hub powered eBike. Pictured here at the Doctors 10km from where we live. I like to cycle there for my Asthma checks 🙂
Nordest Birtango v3. June 2025. Replaced my Nukeproof Digger as my adventure bike. Shall be doing it's first proper trip following the Trans-Eyri route in April if I pull my finger out and get it organised.
Cotic BFE. December 2022. Winter bike, all round hardtail hooligan, 2.6 tyres, 160mm fork, double Fuglyguard. However horrible the conditions, never stops putting a smile on my face.
Santa Cruz SC5010. September 2025. Stiff ex-demo. First SC since my MK1 superlight! It's a lovely thing. Perfect for most of the riding we do, which doesn't really explain what follows.
Wait, there's more 🙂
Santa Cruz Bronson. Jan 2026. MK4 so previous model on sale at Merlin. Coil shocked big brother of the 5010. Not ridden it yet because, well, January.
Nukeproof Giga. December 2022. Many trips away with the big dog. Been brilliant. Will never sell it. Used it as my trail bike for a year or so. It's a bit weighty but I don't really care.
And that's it. Well apart from my Propain Hugene (April 2025) which I'll be putting up for sale. So that doesn't count 🙂
All of this has got me wanting a big bike to complete my set! Don’t get enough time at the moment (2 young kids) to warrant one but I can dream.
I've a collection of 5, which covers most bases ...
Genesis Day One SS. Bought used from eBay about 16 months ago for £175. Used for commuting or filthy gravel when I don't want to damage the drivetrain of the 'posh' gravel bike. Love it!
On One Pickenflick. Now 8 years old, was my special 50th birthday present to myself. Covered close to 40000km since then. Ridden less these days, but still used regularly.
On One Vandal. Had been my trail HT for a few years, but currently set up with a rigid carbon fork and fast XC tyres. Used for short local spins, day long epics, and long bike-packing rides.
Pipedream Moxie - people will be familiar with this from the 'Readers Rides' and Weekend/Midweek Riding Picture Threads. Set up SS, such a fun and capable bike.
Bird Aeris AM. Carbon FS 160/160 travel. This is such a good bike and has helped the tech side of my skills improve significantly. Used for laps of steep hillsides in and around Yorkshire, also some epic long Peak/Lakes rides.
This covers most of what I need a collection to cover. In an ideal N+1 world, I'd also have:
- a road bike
- a short travel FS bike (Transition Spur)
- lightweight XC SS HT (Carbon or Ti) (as well as the Moxie)
I have-
My fast one (Scott Spark, custom built with an eye on lightweight for endurance racing but it turns out it's a bloody hoot for normal trail riding too)

My "daily driver" and "big tours" Sour Purple Haze gravel bike, which has just had a big refresh so now runs on Ultegra Di2 (a revelation - this thing covers massive miles in total filth and was eating gear cables so the shifting was always awful, now it's perfect).

My munro bagger, Arc8 Extra Air which is the big bike - 160mm front and rear, goes up and down Dunkeld/the Golfie/Inners etc very well but is also amazing on big mountains.

My true love - my Sour Crumble. 130mm travel, slack but not too slack, has been to the Alps but I also got on the podium at a 10 hour race on it when the cassette blew up on the Spark last year. I ride this a lot and it has pretty pictures of waves and geological formations on it.

(my favourites so far are probably @fruitbat 's Cotics, @razorrazoo 's Cannondale and even though he doesn't like it, @Alex 's Propain)
@munrobiker - The Propain is a fantastic bike. I, however, am an idiot. It's not that I don't like it, it's that I don't like it as much as the Santa Cruz Mullets. My excuse is that at some point I'm going to buy an ebike, but until then I'm going to ride the bikes I REALLY enjoy the most.
None of them will make me any faster/more skilled/braver because however good modern bikes are, they aren't that good 🙂 But I'll be having a fab time anyway!
I'm a lot more cautious about posting pictures of bikes online since I got wiped out in a burglary. It's not that I think the burglars are from STW but still, call it paranoia.
I have 4 bikes. I also have 4 ground anchors and big, fat chains.

..and 4 dobermans.
2022 On-one Hello Dave - Burly hardtail, used for the steep stuff, not been ridden for quite a few months.
2020 Trek Crocket - CX / Gravel bike, this used the most on mostly local trails but have ridden in a few cx races and the odd longer gravel ride.
2022 Cannondale Scalpel HT - XC race bike that is used for days in the highlands and local short blasts, ones where you can taste blood from the effort. My favourite bike by far but is a bit under-geared when riding gravel with folks on dedicated gravel bikes.
I'm happy with what I have for now, but I would ideally like to buy a burly e-bike for the steeps, and sell the Dave. I would also love a racey gravel bike, something like a carbon Specialized Crux or Vielo Gravel bike. I'd turn my Crocket into a singlespeed.
Very happy with the Moterra SL

Tripster (quite an old pic, those Dura Ace did the clever delamination trick)
X
Commencal HT

And the old faithful 2015 Instinct. Doesn't get much use now, but did!

Summer gravel/Audax - 853 Rourke
Winter gravel/ CX bike. Started life as a frankenbike built up for fun, has quickly turned in to an 'old faithful'.
Summer road - Basso Venta
Winter road (also doubles as occasional winter gravel or CX with the appropriate tyres)
MTB-tourer/ glorified gravel bike. Clearly half a size too small, I've at least since fitted a lay back seat post 🙄
D'oh, hadn't realised that was a 'first ride' pic of the Venta with the uncut steerer 🙄
68 degrees.
The reach is more the reason I’m changing it.
426mm.
It’s a large.
I’m 6’0”
The seat tube is 470mm 🤣
Mega fun to ride, even still, but I’ve finally accepted it’s probably a bit small for me.
Currently a Ripmo AF , a gen 2 Flare max which i love and will never sell and a cannondale topstone gravel bike which to be honest gets used almost exclusively on the road but I appreciate the bigger tyres and comfortable position , would love to use it for some gravel style touring when I get round to it . Currently trying to decide if I want to replace the ripmo with something a bit fancier but I think a lighter wheelset would give it a spritelier feel and be a lot cheaper

I've only really ever had two bikes at a time. Considering I've been through a hell of a lot of bikes, that's not bad going.
Currently:
Lapierre XR7.9, with a relatively fresh set of axon werx forks. Never seen another set on the trails, but are excellent forks.
2006 Gary Fisher 29er do it all, that I bought about 6 or 7 years ago. I had a 2004 version back in 2006, loved it, so had been hankering for a replacement.
nope nothing to see here actually, no nice shiny things at all, go and steal those bike over there
My two tanks.
My 2020 Rocky Mountain Slayer C90. Thanks to Di2 I can also convert this to SS for uplift days.
My 2026 Cube Stereo Hybrid One77 HPC TM 800
A ridiculously long name, so I've called it Frank the Tank.
The EEB is big and burly but does for days when I can't be arsed.
Just going to post the latest here as it's the only one i've got a photo of. By far my most ridden bike these days (Supercross Vision F1)

Proper bike right there. With flats no less.
The full bounce, Deviate Highlander 2. Really like it but I've got an annoying rattle that is driving me nuts and I can't workout what it is. I'd like another steel full sus at some point but there's nothing that takes my fancy at the minute.
The hardtail, Cotic SolarisMAX. 4 years old and no plans to replace.
The nice weather road bike, Giant TCR. Smooth, light and fast.
The crap weather road bike, Sonder Colibri. Cheap, ok to ride and so far reliable.

I recognise that backdrop. I can't wait for it to be bloody dry.
@fathomer I’d also like to try a steel full suss at some point. I almost pulled the trigger on a Cotic Jeht a few years back but insurance payout complicated it and I ended up getting a much better deal on my Stumpjumper. Maybe my next one.
@relapsed_mandalorian I've not managed to get there since Christmas, hopefully this weekend but yeah, I can't wait for some drier weather.
@TomZesty I had a FlareMAX for a couple of years followed by a Starling Murmur for 4 years after that. I'm hoping Cotic go with the suspension layout of the eBike on the RocketMAX or Jeht, I'll be one of the first names on the list if they do.
I recently gave away my old Orange Patriot and my P7, so my garage isn't quite so cluttered now. Wish me luck with the image thingy. Here goes...
This Orange Stage 6 is my current favourite bike. It's an absolute blast!
This is my Jaspa. A replica 1920's Pathracer with a 2sp kickback hub / coaster brake combo. Lovely bike to ride, lethal to stop. It's sitting alongside my wife's rather lovely Pashley Britannia.
My road bike, it's much faster than me.
Our new tandem, modelled by my lovely wife, (the one with two legs in the background).
My old Boardman CX workhorse. It pretty much lives on the turbo trainer nowadays.
Our c.1975 Pashley Tourmaster tandem. It's a truly lovely bike to look at, but a pig to ride. I was convinced that the frame was twisted as all it wants to do is turn left, but sadly I think the truth is that the wife and I are too heavy for it.
Finally, my five year old Levo. Brilliant for when I want to do longer rides, or keep up with other riders on the climbs.
@fathomer I was hoping for something similar from Cotic with a full steel swing arm. Never been keen on the alloy rear end - I’d (irrationally) want all steel on such a bike. How did you find the Murmur?
@TomZesty not to fussed with the alloy part of the swing arm, it's the seatpost insertion and water bottle room that puts me off another Cotic FS. Don't get me wrong I love Cotic's, I've had 6 and the Mrs rides a Jeht. The Murmur was great, rode well up and down, plus it looked amazing. The water bottle location always annoyed me, as did the cable routing round the BB.
Yeah seat post and water bottle on my RocketMax are the 2 things that annoy me. Mines a C2 size and it took a lot of internet searching and measuring to find one that 'fits'. I've had to settle with a 150mm Descend Flight SL with a bit of post showing, can't slam it so a 170 doesn't work.
C2 size also means only small water bottles fit. I bought an elite kids one that holds 350ml and thats about it. A non piggy back shock might give a bit more room for a bigger bottle or fitting the shock the other way round and upside down, but no idea if that would actually affect anyting or not....
Pic below with bottle fitted. I don't generally bother with it....
Lucky enough to own
Nomad for BikePark/Uplifts
Stif Squatch for local XC type rides
Amflow for big pedally away days
Happy with those!
Have got use of quite a few and for the last 6 weeks have been riding my daughters Enduro whilst hitting the trails in New Zealand.
I regularly swap between my Specialized Enduro and S Works Turbo Levo.
The Singlespeed (Kona Bandwagon)
The Full Sus (Transition Spur)
The Hardtail (Yeti ARC)
The Road Bike (OPEN UPPER Ltd)
The Backup (PlanetX Tempest v4)
Aaaand…since you’re only allowed 5 images per post (come on STW - know your audience 🙂 )
The Gravel Bike (Litespeed T5 Gravel)
The Commuter (Carbonda CFR 696)
Bonus points @daffy for presenting the collection in a uniform manner. Hat tip.
Fairly certain I have the most boring/bog standard pair of bikes on here! Boardman road bike (which hasn't actually seen the road for months, rollers only!) and a Vitus hardtail.
Specialized Chisel FS, started life as a base model, now upgraded to Evo spec with a 130mm 34 perf elite up front. This bike has been a revelation to me, bought it to replace my gravel bike (ongoing wrist injury made holding drop bars painful) far more comfortable and not much slower for the groups I ride with. The real surprise was that I was actively choosing this over my 150mm trail bike (a Sonder Evol 29er)...

...so I figured I need to put some distance between the bikes, sonder sold and this purchased

Deviate Claymore, NOS frame, forks and shock from ebay, everything else from the Sonder (it was a very overbuilt trail bike), only built this morning, rear brake needs to be bled still, first ride likely to be next week.
I tried to show you my two bikes but the forum won't let me embed photos from pic hosting sites the way that used to work. (With the img tags). Any ideas?
@_tom_ - I'm willing to bet you don't enjoy riding any less than anyone else on this thread though.
Of the bikes in the garage that are currently still rideable...
Custom Marino frame. Designed as a mullet with '+' tyres, mismatched travel, 1x9. great all-rounder.
'Big' bike. Converted to mullet so silly slack, '+' tyres, 1x9. Monster truck.
Do-it-all hardtail. Custom paint, 27.5+, 1x10. Just gets the job done, no frills.
Pump track hack. 26er, singlespeed, 100mm jump forks. Feels like a twitchy little BMX these days.
Early 29er. Bought as a winter 'fitness' bike. Soon to be rebuilt as a 'what if gravel was MTB rather than road?' experiment.
Home built bamboo road bike with MTB DNA (1x10, flat pedals, flat bars).
Rat cruiser. 90's MTB throwback (Peugeot MTB frame, Tange Prestige forks, Twentyfourseven cranks).
@_tom_ - I'm willing to bet you don't enjoy riding any less than anyone else on this thread though.
The MTB yes, jury's still out on the road bike though 🙂 but my enjoyment on that's more down to drivers attitudes towards cyclists than the bike itself! Think I'd have been better off getting a light and fast rigid MTB for local rides though.
